About Us

The Directorate of Alumni Relations, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, was established in 2026 by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, to strategically engage the graduates of Nigeria’s premier university in the development of their alma mater through mentorship, advocacy, partnerships, and resource mobilization.

The creation of the Directorate aligns with the University’s enduring legacy of academic excellence and community engagement, values in which it takes great pride. The Directorate is dedicated to serving graduates of the University of Nigeria who have been found worthy in character and in learning.

The Directorate of Alumni Relations is committed to excellence, service, and the enduring legacy of the University of Nigeria, which strives to restore the dignity of man. Over the years, the University has produced distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions at local, national, and global levels, thereby upholding and enhancing the University’s reputation.

The Directorate seeks to preserve these valuable connections and harness the collective strength of its alumni community to drive positive change, from the University to the broader global society.

Furthermore, the Alumni Relations Directorate is positioned to enhance the University’s outreach, visibility, and reputation both locally and internationally. This will be achieved through strengthened student support and career development initiatives, facilitated by active alumni engagement. The Directorate will also promote effective communication and collaboration between alumni and the University, encouraging increased alumni participation in institutional development and governance.
